Women are strongly represented in some industries but are under-represented in many others. Many of those industries need skilled workers and have opportunities for women.
Attracting and retaining women into non-traditional industries helps fill skills gaps. It also supports gender equality which is a priority of the National Skills Agreement (NSA)
The NSA recognises that gender diverse workplaces have better growth and productivity. Gender equity in the workplace also improves financial security for women and their families.
