Queensland employs more than 300,000 people in the primary industry and food supply chain sectors.

The Industry Skills Solutions – Primary Industries initiative supports the government’s election commitment to create a skilled and resilient agricultural workforce across regional Queensland.

It is an action of Primary Industries Prosper 2050, which aspires to increase the value of Queensland’s primary industries to $30 billion by 2030.

RealTime Ag: Bringing education in sync with industry needs

Organisation: Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE)

Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) is delivering the first project under the new initiative.

TSBE will lead RealTime Ag which is a 2-year project funded by $1.5 million. It will develop and deliver a training and workforce development model that is guided by industry and led by the region. A major objective is to reinforce the agriculture industry as a modern sector driven by technology.

Overall, the project will respond to opportunities created by innovation in the agriculture industry and align training with the current and future needs of the sector.
