Applications are now open for funding for training projects that help people get a qualification and experience in drone operations.

This is a $1 million initiative that will fund industry-led projects to support the adoption and application of drones across a wide range of industries.

This includes projects that help job seekers, existing workers, and secondary school students gain the necessary drone operator skills, real industry experience and employment in high-demand sectors.

For more details, read the Guidelines for Industry Skills Solutions – Drones initiative.

Successful projects will connect participants with local employers and help them gain:

  • a Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot)
  • a Civil Aviation Safety Authority remote pilot licence
  • work experience in their target industry
  • employment pathways in high-demand sectors.

Target industries include agriculture, mining, logistics, emergency response, construction, and energy.
