The Queensland Government Building and Construction Training Policy has ceased for new projects from 1 July 2026.

For contracts awarded before 1 July 2026 containing training policy clauses, existing contractual commitments continue to apply until the project is complete. However, contractors are no longer required to report training hours through the Training Policy Administration System (TPAS).

These changes reduce administrative requirements while maintaining a strong focus on supporting apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities and building Queensland’s skilled workforce.

The Queensland Government continues to invest in initiatives that strengthen the apprenticeship pipeline and support workforce development through the Right Skills Strategy.
