From the 2025–26 second funding round, the Ready for Work program is no longer available for applications. Ready for Work was merged into the expanded Community Work Skills program.

Ready for Work was one of the programs that formed part of the Queensland Government's Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative. Through a suite of targeted skills and training programs, Skilling Queenslanders for Work aims to improve the skills, employment opportunities and social inclusion of disadvantaged Queenslanders.
