The group training organisation (GTO) pre-apprenticeship program provides funding to GTOs to recruit, screen, induct and deliver tailored support to individuals placed with host employers to undertake employment-based, pre-apprenticeship training.
The program will provide more than 240 Queenslanders with short-term paid employment while undertaking a certificate I in hospitality, construction, engineering or automotive, positioning them to take on an apprenticeship and realise their long-term career goals.
The GTO pre-apprenticeship program has been extended to provide training and employment pathways for Queenslanders to start an apprenticeship , with a strong focus on people from backgrounds not strongly represented in construction, engineering and hospitality apprenticeships.
Eligibility
To be eligible, participants must:
- be aged over 15 years and have left school
- be seeking entry into an eligible industry (hospitality, construction, engineering or automotive)
- meet the eligibility requirements to undertake an apprenticeship in Queensland
- not hold a certificate I in hospitality, construction, engineering or automotive.
