In 2026, the Queensland Training Awards celebrate 65 years of excellence in training and the transformative power of skills.
Since 1962, the awards have recognised individuals and organisations that demonstrate success, innovation and best practice across Queensland’s vocational education and training (VET) sector.
Categories span apprentices, trainees, vocational students, teachers and trainers, training providers and employers, highlighting the people and organisations who are shaping Queensland’s skilled outstanding.
Awards structure
Most Queensland Training Awards categories enter at a regional level. Individual and employer nominees compete regionally first before progressing to the state awards. State winners go on to compete at the national level at the Australian Training Awards.
Award categories are contested across 7 regions:
- Central Queensland
- Darling Downs South West
- Metropolitan
- North Coast
- North Queensland
- South East
- Tropical North Queensland.
Regional winners automatically become state finalists in their nominated category.
Training provider and industry collaboration awards enter directly into state level competition.
