The Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) encourages the department to publish an online disclosure log of RTI access applications.
What is a disclosure log
The disclosure log contains:
- the date of the application
- a brief description of the documents sought
- and
- either
- the reason documents cannot be published on the disclosure log
- a link to a PDF of the documents.
Information not included
Not all information released in response to an application will be published on the disclosure log. For example, if an individual applied for their personal information, or if disclosure of the information is prohibited by law, the documents will not be published on the disclosure log.
Small business RTI applications
On 1 November 2024, the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training was renamed the Department of Trade, Employment and Training. The small business portfolio now sits with the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business and any documents relating to small business RTI applications may be available on their disclosure log.
